It is better to remove books from device instead of removing from Kindle Cloud and I prefer this method as we still have the copy of our book on our Cloud. It is not advisable to have hundreds of books on your kindle device. It is better to have all you books on your cloud and the books you are reading on your kindle device. This gives really advantage in terms of speed of  your kindle device even. Though you maintain 100's of books on your kindle
